1.Appendix Ultrasound Scan: A dedicated ultrasound scan of the appendix will be performed to assess for signs of inflammation, enlargement, or other abnormalities indicative of appendicitis. This imaging procedure plays a crucial role in the diagnosis of appendicitis and aids in determining the appropriate course of action.
2. Routine Private GP Appointment: You’ll receive a routine private appointment with our general practitioner, allowing for a thorough assessment of your symptoms, medical history, and physical examination. Your GP will discuss your symptoms in detail and recommend appropriate diagnostic tests and further management based on your individual case.
3. Blood Tests:
Haematology: Full Blood Count (FBC) with Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR): These tests help evaluate for signs of inflammation and infection, which may be indicative of appendicitis.
Biochemistry: Kidney Function Test: Sodium, Potassium, Chloride, Bicarbonate, Urea, Creatinine, estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR): These tests assess kidney function and overall health, ensuring the safe administration of any necessary treatments.
Liver Function Tests: Bilirubin, Alkaline Phosphatase (Alk Phos), Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST), Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT), Gamma-Glutamyltransferase (Gamma GT), Total Protein, Albumin, Globulin: These tests assess liver function and screen for liver disorders, which may present with similar symptoms to appendicitis.
