1. Doppler Carotid Artery Ultrasound: A specialized ultrasound examination of the carotid arteries will be performed to assess the presence of plaque buildup (atherosclerosis), narrowing (stenosis), or other abnormalities that may increase the risk of stroke or cardiovascular disease.
2. GP Consultation: You’ll have a dedicated consultation with our general practitioner to discuss your medical history, cardiovascular risk factors, and any symptoms you may be experiencing. Your GP will conduct a comprehensive assessment and review of your health profile to develop a personalized care plan tailored to your needs.
3. Blood Test:
* HAEMATOLOGY: Comprehensive blood tests, including a full blood count with a 5-part differential and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), to evaluate the health of your blood cells and detect any abnormalities that may indicate underlying health conditions.
* BIOCHEMISTRY: A comprehensive panel of biochemical tests to assess kidney function (sodium, potassium, chloride, bicarbonate, urea, creatinine, estimated glomerular filtration rate), liver function (bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase, AST, ALT, gamma-glutamyl transferase, total protein, albumin, globulin), cardiac/muscle enzymes (LDH, CK), bone markers (calcium, phosphate, uric acid), glucose levels, lipid profile (total cholesterol, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, non-HDL cholesterol), iron status (iron, total iron-binding capacity).
