Kidneys, Ureters, and Bladder Health Check-Up
KUB Health Packages are designed to provide a thorough assessment of the urinary system, helping to detect potential problems early. Each package combines advanced imaging, medical consultation, and specialist tests to give you clear insights into your kidney and bladder health.
KUB Ultrasound Scan
A dedicated ultrasound scan of the kidneys, ureters, and bladder evaluates:
- Kidneys: Size, structure, cysts, stones, or signs of obstruction/infection
- Ureters: Dilatation or blockages that may indicate stones or urinary flow problems
- Bladder: Wall thickness, capacity, emptying efficiency, and detection of polyps, masses, or residual urine
This safe, non-invasive test helps identify kidney stones, infections, bladder abnormalities, or urinary tract blockages.
GP Consultation
You’ll have a personalised consultation with our experienced GP to discuss your symptoms, medical history, and concerns. The GP will review your ultrasound results (and any blood/urine tests if performed) and provide a tailored care plan with advice on treatment or further referral if needed.
Blood & Urine Tests
Additional tests may be recommended to assess:
- Kidney function (e.g., urea, creatinine, eGFR)
- Signs of infection or inflammation
- Electrolyte balance
These tests provide valuable information on how well your kidneys and urinary system are functioning.

Understanding the Kidneys, Urinary Tract, and Bladder
The kidneys, ureters, and bladder (KUB system) form the body’s filtration and urinary pathway. They work together to remove waste, balance electrolytes, regulate blood pressure, and maintain hydration. Problems in this system can affect not only urinary function but also overall health, energy levels, and wellbeing.
Common Kidney, Urinary & Bladder Health Concerns
- Kidney Stones: Solid deposits that can cause severe pain, urinary obstruction, or infection.
- Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): May affect the bladder (cystitis), kidneys (pyelonephritis), or urethra, causing discomfort and frequent urination.
- Kidney Cysts or Masses: Fluid-filled sacs or growths that may require monitoring or further investigation.
- Bladder Abnormalities: Thickened bladder wall, diverticula, or incomplete emptying.
- Prostate-related Urinary Issues (in men): Prostate enlargement may restrict urine flow and cause bladder strain.
- Obstruction of the Ureters: Can lead to back pressure on the kidneys and reduced kidney function.
Symptoms to Look Out For
âś… Pain in the lower back, sides, or lower abdomen
âś… Frequent, urgent, or painful urination
âś… Blood in the urine (visible or detected on tests)
âś… Difficulty starting or maintaining urine flow
âś… Feeling of incomplete bladder emptying
âś… Recurrent urinary tract infections
âś… Unexplained swelling in the abdomen, ankles, or around the eyes
Why Early Assessment Matters
Kidney, bladder, and urinary symptoms often overlap with other conditions, making accurate diagnosis essential. An ultrasound scan, combined with blood and urine tests and a GP consultation, can:
- Provide a clear and accurate diagnosis
- Detect conditions early, before complications develop
- Guide personalised treatment or referral to a specialist if needed
- Support long-term urinary, kidney, and overall health
